This is just a simple, travel video, not the conventional travel vlog though. I intentionally made it like a short film to achieve a different kind of storytelling. Not just the usual stunning views, drone shots, but there is a little bit of a daily-vlog style in this travel video. Background music from Guns N Roses's Paradise City and Green Day's Welcome to Paradise highlights the meaning of the song in relation to the location of the travel vlog: Paradise Island Beach Resort.
In the opening scene we are presented by a scary-mood music with conversation between me and my brother, talking about how beautiful the beach resort is. This is to make viewers think that it really is scary but contrary to what we were talking about: the beauty of the Paradise. I want to make viewers watch the video longer what really makes it scary that he/she wanted to finish the video. Only to realize it isn't scary at all. There was only one part of the intro where the camera pans over to a dark place taking only the ground with a little bit of light and went further to an area which is reallys scary. Because this area you shouldn't be going. It is dark and no people. Kind of telling something: do not go there, or you'll miss the enjoynment of this beach.
Good thing this particular video has a retention average of 3 minutes and 16 seconds. Not bad.
The technique used here is just pure B-roll. It's just the way how you want to edit it beautifully to achieve a good storytelling.
